Cyclists Curing Cancer Century Ride
Record number of riders roll up the donations
Thanks to the supportive involvement of 42 event partners, 70 volunteers and 225 riders, our 2018 Cyclists Curing Cancer Century Ride was Baptist Health Systems' most successful Ride yet!
Beginning and ending at the Baptist Healthplex in Clinton, participants collectively cycled nearly 10,000 total miles along the historic Natchez Trace Parkway while helping raise almost $40,000 that will have a meaningful impact on cancer patients and their families. It was a special day with many folks either riding in honor or in memory of a loved one, or as a tribute to Jerry Cotton, the former President of Baptist Medical Center who passed away last year.
We appreciate the time and energy of all those who devoted their day to benefitting The Serenity Garden at Hederman Cancer Center.
Among the highlights were fun-filled themed Rest Stops which provided both rejuvenation and entertainment. The Ride concluded with a tasty Chimneyville Smokehouse BBQ lunch, live music by Todd Thompson & the Lucky Hands Blues Band, door prize giveaways, and great camaraderie among our riders and volunteers.
Perhaps the most celebrated moment came when cancer survivor Carol Kossman wheeled down Clinton Parkway around 4:30 pm after cycling eight hours to complete her first Century Ride! Read Carol's story here.
Your contribution to the Baptist Foundation helps our many community health initiatives grow and extend their reach to people in need of Mississippi Baptist Medical Center’s services and care.
