fund for the girls

fund for the girls helps uninsured or underinsured women by providing free breast health screening services, including mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies. Mississippi has the highest mortality rate for breast cancer in the United States, and fund for the girls seeks to remove the financial barriers that may keep women from seeking preventive care.

Since 2012, fund for the girls has raised more than $1.2 million and helped 2,000 women receive vital breast health care. In 2022, fund for the girls assisted 114 patients by providing 117 mammograms, 31 ultrasounds and five biopsies at no cost to the patients.

Mississippi Baptist Medical Center’s radiology department also supports fund for the girls by reducing the diagnostic services fees for qualifying patients, and Baptist Health Foundation’s financial assistance helps patients pay the remaining costs.
